• Please remember in prayer the ‘Posada’ organiser and hosts. Pray that as the ‘Posada’ travels round the parish, it may help to prepare hosts for the celebration of Christ’s coming among us. Pray that the Christingle event on the 8th December may be well attended, and that the children will understand more of what Christmas means for us all.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 2 Holly Class with Mrs Makin – Mrs Bell
• Local issues: Pray for our local shopkeepers at this busy time, that they will be treated with courtesy, and that there may be no issues of shoplifting.
• National issues: Pray for all families struggling financially, especially in the cold winter months and with the pressures and expectations of Christmas, that they may be guided to organisations who can advise and help.
• World issues: 10th December is World Human Rights Day. Pray to our heavenly Father using the words of the prophet Amos: ‘Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.’ (Amos 5:24)
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
