Prayer focus for the week beginning 8th February

Hands

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

  • Tetbury Praying the Town: Northlands Way
  • The parish of Shipton Moyne
  • Pray for all those who maintain the rotas which are so important in the smooth running of the church and services
  • Local issues: Pray that a peaceful resolution can be found to deal with the smoke pollution from part of the trading estate in Cirencester Road
  • We pray for St Mary’s School and particularly Mrs Dolbear and Mrs MacIndoe and Mrs Lee and the pupils of Elm class
  • The Departed and those who mourn their loss, particularly Ronald Wright. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
  • Year’s Mind – Adrian George (9.2) – “Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death – often a difficult time for family and friends.
  • National issues: This is Children’s Mental Health Week. Pray that the many children who are suffering from anxiety and other mental health issues may be given the help and support they need
  • World issues: Thursday 12th February is International Red Hand Day against the use of child soldiers. Pray that children throughout the world may not be exploited and forced into dangerous activities, including forced labour.

  For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness endures through all generations. Ps.100 V5
