
Prayer focus for the week beginning 8th September 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Cotswold Close, Jacobs Close and Rylands Close
• The Parish of St Marys
• Please remember in prayer the ‘Open the Book’ organiser and story tellers at St Mary’s CofE primary school
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Martin Allies (Service of thanksgiving Thursday 19th September at 2pm in St John the Baptist, Shipton Moyne) and Doreen Houghton (Funeral at St Marys’ Tetbury on Tuesday 17th September at 2pm). We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year Reception/Year 1 Lime Class with Mrs Hamilton and Mrs Bowen and Mrs Avis
• Local issues: Remember in prayer our previous vicar, Rev. Canon Poppy Hughes, as she takes up her new position in St Peter’s Church, Grange Park, London
• National issues: Pray for all probation officers, as they meet the demands of overseeing more prisoners being released early because of prison overcrowding
• World issues: Pray that an effective vaccine may quickly be developed to restrict the spread of Mpox, and that children especially may be protected.
Answer me, O Lord, for your steadfast love is good. Psalm 69:16
