
Prayer focus for the week beginning 9th February 2025:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Northlands Way
• The Parish of Long Newnton
• Please remember in prayer those who produce rotas, helping to maintain the smooth running of the church’s activities. Pray that there may be more volunteers forthcoming to go on the rotas.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind – David Coghlan (11/2) – “Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Reception/Year 1 Cherry Class with Mrs Boswell – Mrs Thornbury, Mrs Bell/ Mrs Avis
• Local issues: Give thanks that a considerable sum of money has been awarded to the cricket club towards the completion of the changing rooms on the Dolphins Hall site, and that the Town Council has approved funding to get this community building completed and open for all residents.
• National issues: Tuesday 11th February is Safer Internet Day. Pray that internet companies will take decisive action to remove material which may harm young people and help parents to have positive discussions with their children on how best to protect them.
• World issues: Pray that Donald Trump’s words over the ownership and use of the Panama canal will not lead to aggressive action.
