Prayer focus for the week beginning 9th June 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Berkeley Way & Talboys Walk
• The Parish of Shipton Moyne
• Please pray for the Safeguarding Officers and their important role in carrying out DBS checks
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Laetitia Hardie and Brenda Hatton (Funeral at St Marys’ Tetbury on Tuesday 18th June at noon. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind Eliza Dear (14/06). “Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends
• Praying for Benjamin Margesson and Victoria Clark who are getting married in Holy Trinity, Long Newnton on Saturday 8th June.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 2 Juniper Class with Mr Brown and Mrs Smith
• Local issues: give thanks for Liz Farnham’s service to the community as the town mayor, and pray for God’s blessing and guidance for her successor
• National issues: for the National Great Big Green Week from the 8th-16th June, with its theme ‘Swapping Together’, as people share ideas for community action to tackle climate change and sustainability
• World issues: give thanks for all organisations, especially Christian groups, seeking to support local communities by teaching new farming methods which are more resilient to climate change
