Jesus calms the storm. “Peace! Be still!” These are Jesus’ extraordinary words of command to the raging wind and sea on the lake. And, in that moment, the winds ceased and there was a “dead calm”. For the disciples – for us – it is moment to recognise our creating, saving God present with them, as he is present with us. “Churches Count on Nature”: Many thanks to all involved! We had a wonderful day yesterday (Saturday 12th June) discovering the wildlife in the churchyard of St Marys’ Tetbury. Thank you to everyone who made it possible, and to everyone who came along. And our special thanks to Rosemary Bailey who inspired us to join “Churches Count on Nature” and made it happen. In all we spotted 125 species – from lichen to bees, wild flowers to birds. And all our data will be added to a central register, to help us understand the diversity of wildlife in our churchyards.
As we gather we hear Jesus’ call to come together as brothers and sisters in Christ. We reflect on all we share in our life as God’s family, and those things that wound our loving relationship with each other and with God. Worship is led by Poppy and Pauline.
