I am delighted to announce that we will be joined by Steve Bullock in July 2022 as a full-time Curate, joining Pauline and myself and our wider Reader and Clergy team. I’ll say more at our Zoom Worship next Sunday, but please hold Steve in your prayers and here is the brief note he’s written for this announcement: Poppy
Hi my name is Steve Bullock and I am looking forward to joining you in June/July 2022. So just a bit about me. I currently live in Gloucester, with Linda my wife and my young adult daughters, Lydia (21) and Rebecca (19). I am currently studying and training for ordination at the Queens Foundation in Birmingham but only doing this part time as I am still employed at the University of Gloucestershire lecturing and overseeing a course in working with Children, young people and families. I am a nationally qualified youth worker by background and have had the privilege of working with young people in various locations in the UK with Youth for Christ, in an Anglican church in Stoke-On-Trent, in Stockport with a local Christian charity associated with Scripture Union and with young people here in Gloucester when I served as youth officer with the Diocese. I’m a practitioner at heart but who seems to have accumulated various qualifications over the years, most recently acquiring a PHD via research that focused on local communities and their response to developing localised youth provision.
In my spare time, I enjoy running (very slowly), walking, reading, enjoy listening to a wide variety of music and sampling the wears of various eateries after which I need to run again!
My road to ordination has been a journey and I look forward to sharing this with you, when I join you.
