
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

- Give thanks and pray for the ‘Faith Explorers’ after-school club leaders and helpers at St Mary’s C of E primary school. Pray that these opportunities to take the Christian message into the school may continue to flourish, including Collective Worship and Messy Church.
- Pray also for St Marys PCC meeting taking place on Wednesday 17th September, and for the Faith and Growth committee, with particular responsibility for discipleship, the ministry to children and young people, and worship within the church.
- The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
- We pray for Tommy Carrington & Rosie Walker who are getting married on Friday 19th September in Holy Trinity, Long Newnton. We pray that it will be a very special day and the start of a life-long commitment, with God at the centre of their relationship.
- Local issues: Give thanks and pray for the staff in our post office and the Coventry Building Society, the only two financial centres remaining in Tetbury.
- National issues: Pray for families who will have difficulty in meeting the rise in gas and electricity prices this autumn. May they be put in touch with organisations which can advise and support them in their financial challenges.
- World issues: Sunday 14th September is Education Sunday. Pray that all children, boys and girls, may have regular access to education, that they may receive the essential skills to flourish in the modern world, especially with increasing technology.
I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted and will execute justice for
