
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• The Parish of Beverston
• Pray for our Youth Worker at Sir William Romney School, Mandie Winbow. May she be given wisdom to know how best to support the young people in the school, who face many pressures, especially from social media.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss, including Mike Van Sloots. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind – Michelle Gardner (26.9) – “Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death – often a difficult time for family and friends.
• Pray for Austin Charrington being baptised at St Mary the Virgin Beverston on Saturday 27th September.
• Local issues: Give thanks and pray for the Thursday drop-in centre, the Wednesday morning Coffee Pot at Christ Church, and any other facilities which offer regular friendship and companionship to older or more isolated residents in Tetbury. Also, give thanks for the Tetbury Music Festival running from the 27th September to the 5th of October, praying that it will be well attended and bring much joy to listeners and musicians. Pray for the organisers, that all the arrangements will run smoothly.
• National issues: Pray for our government and refugee agencies, that they may be given wisdom and compassion in dealing with the challenge of those entering the country illegally.
Also, Friday 26th is a National Day of Prayer for Schools. Remember especially in prayer our local schools, praying for staff and students.
• World issues: September 22nd to October 5th is Fairtrade fortnight. Pray that governments and trade organisations will continue to insist on ethical working practice in all industries, including farming, that people may be protected and receive a fair reward for their work.
I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted and will execute justice for the needy. Ps.140 V12
