
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

- Pray and give thanks for our eco-church leaders, as they seek to nurture our local environment and challenge us all to take a more active part in protecting nature.
- The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
- Year’s Mind – Martin Allies (24.8) – “Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death – often a difficult time for family and friends.
- Local issues: Pray for our new Rector, the Revd. Sarah Heywood and her family, as they move into the vicarage in advance of her induction on 31st May they all feel welcome and well supported.
- National issues: As the August bank holiday approaches, pray for safety on the roads and in popular tourist resorts
- World issues: continue to pray for those countries still affected by war, especially Ukraine and Sudan. Pray also for those affected by natural disasters – flooding, wildfires, volcanic eruptions, extreme heat. Oh Lord, make haste to help them.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15 V.13
