Prayer focus for the week beginning 28th May
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Charlton Road
• The Parish of Long Newnton
• Our PCC secretaries
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss especially Pauline Bedford, Barbara Lewsey (Service of Thanksgiving on Friday 2nd June at 2pm at Holy Trinity, Long Newnton) and David Lowsley Williams (Memorial service in Tetbury on Thursday 27th July at 2pm). We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind: Rose Bell (29/05). (“Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends).
• Praying for Oscar and Lunar McGilvray being baptised in Holy Trinity Long Newnton on Saturday 27th May and their parents and Godparents
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 1 Pear Class with Ms Leake – Mrs Amor
• Please pray for our pilgrims this week! A party will travel on Friday 2nd June to Iona to stay with the Iona Community for a week.
• Local issues: Give thanks for Westonbirt Arboretum, and for all who volunteer to serve there
• National issues: for the many people, both young and old, who feel lonely and isolated. May we play our part in being sensitive to the needs of those around us & offer friendship
• A challenge for us all: ‘Be kind and merciful. Let no-one ever come to you without coming away better and happier.’ (Mother Teresa 1910-1997)
• World issues: pray for all organisations which seek to provide clean water supplies to isolated communities, transforming health and enabling girls to have time to attend school instead of spending time having to collect water from a distance
Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. Ephesians 6:18
Are you, or someone you know, in need of prayer? You are welcome to hang your prayer request on the prayer tree in the prayer corner at the front of St Marys’ church
