
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

- Give thanks and pray for Diana Challis in her valuable role as Church Shop organiser, and for the stewards who support her and welcome visitors to our lovely church
- The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends. We remember especially Alison Hesketh and her family and give thanks for her many years of faithful service and witness in the church, local community and beyond. Her funeral service is on Thursday 7th August.
- Praying for Francis Oxley and Ellen Cronin getting married at Holy Trinity, Long Newnton on Sunday 3rd August.
- Praying for Theodore Ashworth being baptised at Holy Trinity Long Newnton and Grace Ford being baptised at St Marys’ Tetbury, both on Saturday 9th August.
- Local issues: Pray for the ongoing work to improve the surface of the railway footpath, that it may be made safer and more user-friendly, especially for those using disability aids. Give thanks for those who are carrying out the work.
- National issues: Pray that a fair resolution may be found to end the current resident doctors’ strike, and the threatened nurses’ strike.
- World issues: Pray that world leaders will be given wisdom to know how best to respond actively to the famine situation developing in Gaza.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15 V.13
