Prayer focus for the week beginning13th July 2025

Hands

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

  • Tetbury Praying the Town: Cherry Orchard Road & Hodges Close
  • The Parish of St Marys
  • Give thanks and pray for the Collection counters and bankers and those organising second Sunday charity collections, and for members of the Stewardship committee, responsible for legal matters and governance. Pray too for wisdom and God’s guidance for the PCC members of St Marys as they meet on Wednesday 16th
  • The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
  • Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 4/5 Maple Class with Ms Keen and Mrs Royle, Year 6 Rowan Class with Mr Godfry and Mrs Eke & Year 6 Oak Class with Mrs Danton and Mrs Weston
  • Praying for Ruth Harrison, Grace Copeland-Eccles, James Copeland-Eccles and Rosemary McCoy who are being confirmed by the Bishop of Tewkesbury in St Mary’s Church at 10am on Sunday 13th July
  • Local issues: pray for the ‘Holiday at Home’ information evening at 7.30pm at Christ Church on Tuesday 15th July, that a good number of people will be willing to sign up to help at the event at the end of July and beginning of August. Pray for guidance and encouragement for those organising.
  • National issues: Friday 18th July marks the start of the National Butterfly Count. Pray that these beautiful creatures may be protected and flourish.
  • World issues: Tuesday 15th July is World Youth Skills Day. Pray that all young people will have the opportunity for education and training, especially in IT skills, so that they can participate effectively and fairly in today’s world of work.

 

In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God. Philippians 4:6
