Prayer focus for the week beginning 17th May

Hands

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• Tetbury Praying the Town: Alexander Gardens, Bartley Croft & Malthouse Walk
• The parish of Beverston
• Give thanks for our PCC secretaries
• We pray for Bertie Hall-Wilson being baptised at St John the Baptist Shipton Moyne on Sunday 17th May.
• We pray for Charles and Lucy Bignell as they renew their marriage vows at St Mary the Virgin Beverston on 23rd May.
• We pray for St Mary’s School and particularly Mr Godfrey and Mrs Eke and the pupils of Rowan Class.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss, including Raymond Mitchell. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind – Carol Cooper (19.5) & Kathleen Watret (23.5) – “Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death – often a difficult time for family and friends.
• Local issues: pray that people living on their own may make full use of local initiatives to provide social opportunities, especially the new Monday late afternoon event at the Priory Inn
• National issues: Give thanks for our royal family, in their constant service to the country, and pray for their ongoing protection, and for strength and wisdom as they carry out their duties.
• World issues: Wednesday 20th May is International Bee Day. Give thanks for the constant work performed by bees and other pollinators, and pray for blessing and protection on all beekeepers and their bees in their valuable roles.

The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. Ps.116:5
