Prayer focus for the week beginning 9th July

Hands

Prayer focus for the week beginning 9th July 2023:

• Tetbury Praying the Town: Clarrie Road and Cooks Pool
• The Parish of St Marys; also the Animal Service at 11.15am in Beverston church, celebrating God’s creation, and the iSingPOP Celebrate at 4.00pm in St Mary’s school hall, that both events will be well attended and that those present will feel closer to God as they celebrate His love & creativity
• Our church treasurers – we give thanks for their service, and pray for wisdom in the decisions they make
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss especially Eliza Dear (Funeral in St John The Baptist, Shipton Moyne on Friday 14th July at 4pm), and David Lowsley Williams (Memorial service in Tetbury on Thursday 27th July at 2pm). We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind: Ken Dryden (14/07). (“Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends).
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 4 Chestnut Beach Class with Mrs Danton – Ms Rush
• Local issues: for the TACT Reflect Women’s breakfast on 15th July at Christ Church, that it may be a time of fellowship and encouragement in the Christian walk and witness
• National issues: for our National Health Service as it grapples with staff shortages, delays and backlogs in treating patients. May the Prime Minister’s plans to increase the number of those training to be doctors and nurses be effective, and current medics not feel overwhelmed by the challenges they face daily
• World issues: for all communities lacking access to clean water, which we so often take for granted. Pray for governments and charities such as WaterAid as they seek to provide for this basic necessity for health and daily living.

Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure. Ps.147:5
