News from St Marys’ Church September 2020

September 8, 2020

NEWS FROM ST MARYS’ – SEPTEMBER 2020 Let’s make a fuss of our pets! This summer, we got thinking about how important our pets have been over these past months – keeping us company, keeping us amused … and perhaps keeping us exercised.  That last bit definitely doesn’t apply to me!  My black cat, Sweetpea, moves as little as possible! And because our pets are so important, we wanted to thank God for them and ask for his blessing on them.  So, one 10am Sunday Worship on Zoom became an Animal Service.  People sent in their photos and we had…

So, we mark Creation Season over four Sundays: Sunday 6th September – celebrating God’s wonderful creation.  We focus on God as creator, understanding that as the world belongs to God so we are called to be good stewards of…

Recording of Sunday Worship, 30th August

September 1, 2020

In worship, our focus is on Jesus call:  Take up your cross and follow me. In our service we prayed for the children as they return to school – including asking for God to bless these cards, which we give to each child and the staff at our Church Primary School, St Mary’s in Tetbury.  We usually give the cards out at the school gates, as the children arrive for their new school year.  We’re doing things differently this year, of course.  But each child will still be given a card to hang on their school bag, delivered to each…
