Recording of Sunday Worship, 16th May

May 17, 2021

Ascension Sunday As we celebrate the events of The Ascension, we reflect on our faith in Jesus Christ:  God come to dwell among us, who – having died and risen again – returns to his Father, to open to us the gates of heaven.  And we look forward to Pentecost and the call for us now to be the new body of Christ here on earth, filled with his life through the gift of the Holy Spirit. Worship is led by Poppy and Sarah.

Church clock

April 22, 2021

After a year of waiting while parts were repaired we have a working clock at the church. It may run a little slow for a couple of days while John calibrates the pendulum, but hopefully everything is now in order. Enjoy the return of the “old 113th” every 3 hours during the day

Following the announcement of the death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, we offer our prayers for Her Majesty The Queen and The Royal Family at this time. The Bishop of Gloucester, the Right Revd Rachel Treweek said this morning, “It is with deep sadness that we hear the news of the Duke of Edinburgh’s death. This is a huge loss to the nation and one which we will all feel deeply for a long time to come. We give thanks for Prince Philip, his unwavering love and support of the Queen, and for the good…

March 20, 2021

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the collection for Joe Nagle, thanking him for all his amazing support of our worship on Zoom over the past year.  We raised £750 and Joe has asked me to relay many thanks from him and from MOK – and Joe plans to put the money towards buying a piano for their new term.  With love and prayers, Poppy PS if you see Joe, ask him about learning the piano.  He started in the first lockdown and is now practising for Grade 3!

Tip from Greening Tetbury this week

March 20, 2021

In our Lent Home Groups this week, we focussed on our relationship with creation.  Reading Psalm 65 together we reflected on God’s tender care in creation, acting to renew and sustain the earth.  And we hear again our call to be stewards who, in our turn, offer that same tender care for this beautiful world. Tip from Greening Tetbury this week:  The solitary bees are waking up and have been spotted working their way around the early flowers in the garden. Do leave spaces in your garden for them to nest if you can, either with a commercially produced bee…

Hello from the “nearly new” curate!

March 9, 2021

Hello from the “nearly new” curate! I am not sure for how much longer I can say “I’m the new curate in Tetbury”; I have been here already eight months! I am however new to these pages and this is an opportunity for me to introduce myself. I’m Pauline Setterfield, married to Peter and, as Revd Poppy mentioned a few months ago, we have lived for 35 years in nearby Hawkesbury Upton where I was organist, director of the choir and worship leader. Having sung with the Tetbury church choir on many occasions and as a supporter of the Tetbury…
