Jesus calms the storm “Peace! Be still!” These are Jesus’ extraordinary words of command to the raging wind and sea on the lake. And, in that moment, the winds ceased and there was a “dead calm”. For the disciples – for us – it is moment to recognise our creating, saving God present with them, as he is present with us. Our God who acts in the brokenness and turbulence of our own lives, and the life of the world, to bring wholeness and peace. Worship is led by Poppy and Ian.

Lovely news! I am delighted to announce that we will be joined by Steve Bullock in July 2022 as a full-time Curate, joining Pauline and myself and our wider Reader and Clergy team. I’ll say more at our Zoom Worship next Sunday, but please hold Steve in your prayers and here is the brief note he’s written for this announcement: Poppy Hi my name is Steve Bullock and I am looking forward to joining you in June/July 2022. So just a bit about me. I currently live in Gloucester, with Linda my wife and my young adult daughters, Lydia (21) and…
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ From the many conversations I’ve shared, we now have a plan for returning to Sunday Worship in our church buildings. For St Marys’ Tetbury weekly services in church will begin on Sunday 4th July, alongside the services already being held in Beverston, Long Newnton and Shipton Moyne. Although this means our Zoom Worship will come to an end, we will be live-streaming the 10am service from St Marys’, with the recording put on YouTube as we do now for Zoom. Thank you to John Sharp for all is he doing to make that possible.…
The RE topic this term in St Mary’s school has been “Taking Care of our World”. They have been busy learning about important people such as Greta Thunberg and David Attenborough and talked about changes that need to happen to ensure a cleaner greener future. They have also talked about the little things that each and everyone of us can do to help make a difference such as, turn off lights and appliances we are not using, recycle our rubbish and re-use things where possible. The children have made posters that share these messages. You may already know that June…
In our Gospel reading, Jesus uses the image of a tiny mustard seed to talk about the coming of the Kingdom of God. Although it is “the smallest of all the seeds on earth”, he says, yet it grows to become “the greatest of all shrubs”. In this image, we glimpse a powerful picture of the transformation that is possible in God, and his call to us to work to bring in his reign of love, justice, peace and truth. Worship is led by Sarah and Liz.
As we gather we hear Jesus’ call to come together as brothers and sisters in Christ. We reflect on all we share in our life as God’s family, and those things that wound our loving relationship with each other and with God. Worship is led by Poppy and Pauline.
Trinity Sunday This Sunday we reflect on the wonder and mystery of the nature of God: The Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Our God, at whose very heart is relationship and community. Our God who – as seen in the beautiful icon above – reaches out to draw in all people to share in his life. Our God who calls us to then share this same loving relationship and community with those around us, in ways which this year has shown are so vital in our lives and the life of the world. Worship is led by Ian…
Prayers and “save the date” Please hold our lovely Curate Pauline in your prayers as she prepares to be ordained priest at 3pm on Saturday 26th June at Gloucester Cathedral. Numbers will be limited, so attendance at the Cathedral is by invitation only, but the service will be live-streamed. Do join if you can. And our celebration with Pauline will focus on Sunday 4th July, when she will preside at the Eucharist for the first time at 10am in St Marys’ Tetbury. We’ll be asking you to book in by contacting Diana at office@tetburychurch.co.uk so please “save the date” and…
Welcome to Tetbury Many new people have moved into Tetbury over the last year. Tetbury Area Churches Together (TACT) have created a welcome pack to celebrate each of the four churches in town. If you know of someone new who has moved into your road or if you live on a new development and you would like to deliver some to your neighbours, do please take some leaflets. They are available from the back of church or from Sarah Parton.
